Bumbleride Indie

As a busy mom of two who has just started training for my first 5k, the Bumbleride Indie was just the motivation I needed to take my training from the treadmill to the outdoors.

I was elated when the box arrived on my front porch. I was even more excited when I opened the box and found the stroller to require little assembly which I did not need any tools to complete. The manual had no written instructions for assembly and the pictures were dark and sometimes hard to follow but with just a few snaps, clicks, twists and less than 10 minutes of my time, there it was. Sitting in my living room was a bright, luxurious, sleek jogging stroller. My 3-year old son immediately climbed in and demanded a ride.

The stroller frame is sturdy and the fabric is both soft and durable. The seat is easy to clean with a baby wipe or towel and is also removable and machine washable. The single-passenger stroller has a weight capacity of 45 pounds. It easily folds and unfolds and the air filled tires snap off for more compact storage. The folded stroller with the tires still attached easily fit into the trunk of my mid-sized car. And weighing only 20 pounds it is easy to lift in and out with little effort.

I love the large canopy with SPF 45 protection. It is fully adjustable and has a peek-a-boo window so you can keep your eye on your little one. With the seat in the fully reclined position, the “bassinet flaps” and the fully extended canopy make it a dream ride for my infant son. The padded seat is firm yet comfortable and the shoulder pads and adjustable foot rest both add an extra level of comfort as well. It’s perfect for a jog while the baby naps! The five point harness is adjustable and has a seat-to-canopy headroom of 23 inches. It also comes standard with a universal car seat adapter so it fits both my growing children perfectly. The only thing I found difficult was the adjustment strap on the seat.  It is easy to pull the strap and adjust the seat into the recline position but a little more tricky to get the seat back into the inclined position. If I had an extra hand, I would not be complaining.

The front wheel can be locked into the fixed position which I found to be ideal for jogging. I first thought it would be too difficult to steer in the fixed position so I went for my first jog without locking the front wheel. The front wheel began shaking and making the stroller very unstable. I immediately switched to the locked position which remedied the problem and I found that it was still a breeze to steer. The stroller also has a large, easy to use foot brake. It handles all terrains well and provides a smooth ride for baby with its rear wheel suspension.

Not only does the stroller fit both my children, but it also fits both my husband and me.  There is an adjustable, padded handle so it’s comfortable for my 6’1” husband to run without having to lean forward and hunch down. And if you’re like me, you’ll be thankful for the large cargo basket to hold your multiple bags, jackets, toys, and snacks that you cannot leave the house without! The stroller also comes standard with a flexible cup holder that attaches to the side of the stroller. It is sturdy enough to hold drinks over bumpy terrain but I would prefer for it to attach to the rear of the stroller for easier access while on the go. Other standard accessories include a bumper bar, wrist strap, and travel strap to make carrying the stroller more comfortable. Optional accessories include a snack pack, foot muff and liner, travel bag, rain shield, and carry cot. The stroller is also available in seven beautifully rich colors.

There is not much that I don’t absolutely love about this stroller. It provides a safe and comfortable ride for my child and I can take it to the mall while I shop or take it outside for a great workout. I recommend this stroller to all parents as both an everyday stroller and a jogging stroller. It is a high quality item that I expect to last through both my children. Its strong features are ideal for men yet it’s chic and elegant for women at the same time. It has a pretty steep price point but as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for.
